How much will a website cost?
The cost of setting up a website can be broken down into two parts.
First you have to decide on a domain name, register it and have an ISP set up some webspace for you. We normally use Zen Internet to provide this service, and for this they charge £25. In addition they charge £50 per year for the rental of your webspace. You may find ISPs who do it for less, but you won't find anyone better. Occasionally a client comes along with a domain name and webspace already bought and paid for with another ISP and we use that. On a couple of occasions we have had difficulties with other ISPs and transferred the site to a Zen server.
Secondly you have to get a webmaster to design and launch your website. The cost of this can vary enormously depending on the complexity and the number of pages in your site. We charge £25 per hour for web design and after discussing your requirements we can give you an estimate of the cost.
We have designed and launched a simple site for as little as £75, but often the cost of a modest site will be in the order of £400 or £500.
