What is the purpose of my website ?

If you are a small company and the purpose of your site is to sell your product nationwide or worldwide the first important decision is the domain name. If your company is called Jones Bros. and you make widgets, you are more likely to be contacted by someone using a search engine looking for widgets if your site is called "www.widgets_unlimited.co.uk" than if your domain name is "www.jones_bros.co.uk".

Whatever product or service you are selling, a simple, easily navigated website is more likely to yield results than a complex site in which your customer loses both his way and his patience.

If you are a local company with your domain name on your premises and your vehicles, and the purpose of the site is to showcase your firm, then you can afford to indulge yourself and your web designer and include a few animations and dynamic html effects particularly if the animations show your product in action.
